Stories of the Mississippi Delta
Housed in the historic Monte Carlo building, The Catfish Row Museum will introduce a viable and sustainable cultural heritage experience, preserving the existing building and adding additions as funding becomes available. Galleries will showcase the unique and diverse aspects of Vicksburg – from its music, history and storytelling to its vibrant food heritage, worship and the visual arts.
As part of a larger interpretive plan for historic Vicksburg, the museum will bring “Catfish Row” back to life with a broad exploration of the events, places, stories, and voices that helped shape its culture, both past and present.
